TMDL ID Unique ID assigned to each TMDL input to the TMDL_DOCUMENTS table. The ID is system generated. When multiple TMDLs are included in one Document, the document may have one or more IDs associated with it. This field is included for all entries.

COUNT
TMDL NAME Name of the TMDL. This field is included for all entries.
STATE The state abbreviation (US Postal) for the state. This field is included for all entries.
REGION EPA Region (1-10). This field is included for all entries.
TMDL STATUS Status of the TMDL (e.g., submitted, established/approved, disapproved draft, proposed, submitted, or withdrawn). This field is included for all entries.
TMDL SUBMITTAL DATE Date EPA received the TMDL from the state. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
DAYS TO APPROVE The calculated number of days between the date the TMDL was submitted to EPA and the date it was approved or established by EPA.
TMDL DATE Date EPA established or approved the TMDL. This field is included for all entries.
TMDL YEAR The year EPA established or approved the TMDL. This field is included for all entries.
TMDL FISCAL YEAR Fiscal Year EPA established or approved the TMDL. This field is included for all entries.
WITHDRAWN DATE If a TMDL is withdrawn this field includes the date it was withdrawn. This field is included for all Withdrawn TMDLs.
EPA ACTION This field describes the action taken by EPA on the TMDL. A value of "EPA Established" signifies that EPA developed and established the TMDL while a value of "EPA Approved" signifies that the state developed the TMDL and EPA approved their submittal. This field is included for all entries.
POLLUTANT ID ID assigned to the TMDL Pollutant. This field is included for all entries.
POLLUTANT DESCRIPTION Description of the pollutant or surrogate for which the TMDL was written). This field is included for all entries.
TMDL TYPE Type of TMDL (e.g., point source, nonpoint source, or both). This field is included for all entries.
TMDL ENDPOINT Text field containing information on the target or endpoint of the TMDL.This may be the numeric water quality standard or the target selected for an interpretation of a narrative standard. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
TOTAL WASTE LOAD ALLOCATION The sum of all Waste Load Allocations (WLAs) assigned to point sources in a TMDL. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
TOTAL LOAD ALLOCATION The portion of a receiving water's loading capacity that is attributed either to one of its existing or future nonpoint sources of pollution or to natural background sources.
EXPLICIT MARGIN OF SAFETY The Margin of Safety (MOS) accounts for the uncertainty in the relationship between the allocated pollutant loads and achievement of water quality standards in the waterbody. This field describes whether the MOS is implicit or explicit. This field is included for all entries.
UNITS The unit of measure for the NPDES Waste Load Allocation (WLA).
UNIT DESCRIPTION The description of the unit of measure.
IMPLICIT MARGIN OF SAFETY A 'Y' value indicates that an margin of safety is implicit or implied and no explicit margin of safety value is required.
EPA_LEAD Person taking the lead to make sure lawsuit task is completed.
PUBLIC MEETING DATE Date of public meeting. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
FTE Estimated number of full-time equivalents used to develop the TMDL. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
DEVELOPMENT COSTS Estimated cost to develop analytical portion of the TMDL. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
FIELD COSTS Estimated costs to gather data for the TMDL.
GRANT DOLLARS Estimated grant dollars used to develop the TMDL. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
ENDANGERED SPECIES Code indicating if the TMDL pertains to an endangered species; 1 is 'Yes', 0 is 'No'.
ENDANGERED SPECIES COMMENTS Yes/No field indicating whether or not an endangered species is present. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
PUBLIC NOTICE DATE Date the TMDL is officially public noticed to the public by EPA or state. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
DOCKET NUMBER A number associated with the lawsuit (assigned by the court). This field is optional and not included for all entries.
COMMENTS A field to store additional information. This field is optional and not included for all entries.
STATE FIPS CODE The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Code is a numeric identifier for the state. This field is included for all entries.
STATE NAME Name of the state, longhand (as opposed to state abbreviation). This field is included for all entries.
PARENT POLLUTANT ID ID associated with the "parent" pollutant. The "parent" pollutants are generalized categories within which two or more specific pollutants are categorized. This field is included for all entries.
PARENT POLLUTANT DESCRIPTION The description of the parent pollutant category. This field is included for all entries.
LIST ID Unique ID assigned to each state listing. The first two characters are the state abbreviation. The middle characters are the water's Waterbody System ID, another state-derived ID, or an arbitrary ID assigned by the state. This field is included for all entries.
