The SIC codes are a set of codes used to classify the economic activities of most of the industries or kinds of business establishments in our economy. The SIC classification system defines economic activity into 10 divisions. The NAICS is organized similarly to the SIC codes. Economic activities of business establishments are grouped hierarchically into economic sectors, economic subsectors, industry groups, and industries.
