EDSC

Facility Information

The Environmental Data Standards Council (EDSC) is a partner in EPA's standards development process and develops environmental data standards to promote the exchange of information among States, Native American Tribes, and EPA. This Web site provides authoritative information on Council actions, environmental data standards, and related information. EPA's Office of Environmental Information (OEI) is developing the Facility Registry System (FRS), a centrally managed database that identifies facilities, sites or places that are subject to environmental regulations or are of environmental interest to the Agency.

EIMS

EMPACT

EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) has developed a scientific Environmental Information Management System (EIMS) that stores, manages, and delivers descriptive information (metadata) for data sets, databases, documents, models, multimedia, projects, and spatial information. The Environmental Monitoring for Public Access and Community Tracking (EMPACT) program represents a partnership between EPA and communities to collect, manage, and present environmental information in a timely and more meaningful manner. EMPACT projects are required to use standard data elements and register the data elements from their projects in the Environmental Data Registry (EDR) to promote consistent data collection to make information sharing easier.

One Stop (REI)

State Cleanup

The One Stop Reporting Program is a grant partnership between EPA and state environmental agencies to create a framework for environmental regulatory reporting using standards-based information management practices. EPA's Office of Environmental Information worked with the Office of Emergency and Remedial Response (OERR), and the Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (ASTSWMO) to develop a set of hazardous waste data elements for developing state hazardous wastes cleanup databases.
